Prioritise official NSW National Parks camping when that product fits — mornings become walks, not long drives between sections. Vehicle day entry is still required on top of camping if you drive into Green Cape ($8 / day snapshot). Pambula-Haycock is free entry. Annual passes do not cover camping. When you want a commercial bed, pick the town that matches your section: Eden south, Merimbula / Pambula north. Wonboyn is secondary.

Official park camping: NSW National Parks — Beowa campgrounds. Book only there.

Inside the park

Official camping only

Saltwater Creek (marked unpowered sites; treat tank water and still bring water; no coverage at the campground), Bittangabee (marked sites; motorhome-capable; road can be boggy), Mowarry and Hegartys Bay walk-in Light to Light platforms (book official Light to Light camping; treat tank water; guy ropes). Mowarry’s separate campground page also lists 4 gravel walk-in pads (4WD to the carpark). Green Cape Keepers’ Cottages and Telegraph Station are closed until at least 31 Dec 2026. Fees are aseparate system from the $8 Green Cape vehicle day entry. Park entry is not included in camping.

Choose a base by intent

Match the bed to the section. Twofold Bay is in the way. Official camping is never affiliated here. No invented room or pump prices.

Families / first visit

North: Pambula or Merimbula for The Pinnacles, toilets in town, NPWS Merimbula office. South: Eden for Boyds Tower. Do not sleep north and “swing past” Green Cape after lunch.

Early start / Light to Light

Sleep Eden. Book platforms first. Fuel and ≥5 L before Edrom Road. Finish-car at Green Cape or a confirmed transfer — not a hope. Official camps: NSW National Parks.

Closest overnight

Saltwater Creek or Bittangabee (vehicle) only on official booking. Green Cape cottages closed to at least 31 Dec 2026. Wonboyn is overflow, not a park camp. Medical is in Bega Valley towns — 000 needs a signal.
